Dara’s Day Out
Trent is always telling me that I should go out and get inspired. I always tell him, “Pffff, I don’t have time all for that between all my jobs and having a life on the side.” But because NYC has so much to offer to get “those creative juices flowing,” there really is no reason not to take a little time to be inspired creatively.
Cut to this summer: I did make two trips to see the McQueen exhibit at the MET, and decided I needed to do that more often. So when I saw that the FIT museum was hosting an exhibit featuring personal pieces of Daphne Guinness, I was there! I was there as soon as it opened up Friday, September 16,201, to be exact.
Her pieces are beyond amazing. Daphne truly is a collector of fine clothing. I think I would actually wear every single piece in there, graded way up to fit me, of course. (she’s very tiny).
Anyways, I was so inspired to say the least. If you have a chance, I strongly urge you to take a some time, go down to FIT and visit the exhibit yourself.
I was banned from taking pictures as soon as I walked into the first room with my camera ready to go, so I have nothing original for you here. However, I love this image of Daphne on her way to the funeral service of the Late Alexander McQueen, and here’s the description for one of the sections in the exhibit I felt depicted my personal style as well.
