Run Rabbit Run
In keeping with Fitness Fridays, I bring you another post focused on staying fit and healthy. The topic of choice this week is running.
Tomorrow the hubs and I will complete our Beginning Level 1 class through JackRabbit NY Training Programs with a commemorative 5 mile run (can I get an hallelujah, praise Jesus, please)! This is my second time completing a running session with JackRabbit, and after every class, I’m still amazed that I’m able to run 4-5 miles continuously, as I NEVER ran a day in my life before this class. (I don’t consider the elliptical running)
I first heard about JackRabbit from my trainer and great friend and soon to be guest writer for Preston & Olivia Fitness Fridays, Miss Emily Cook, about a year ago when I was in search for a “real” pair of running shoes. The cute/fashionable Saucony ones I purchased at Journey’s in college just weren’t cutting it. At JackRabbit, they really work with you one-on-one. I love this quote from their website: “We’ll spare you the marketing mumbo-jumbo and help you find the right shoe for you.” Read more about this process here.
This running class has been as thorough as the shoe fitting process. The coaches teach you how to run from the ground up, literally. The first thing we did on the first day of class was reach down and learn how to properly tie our shoe laces. We started from the ground up, ladies and gents!!!
Again, this is my second time finishing up the running class. The first time I did it alone, but formed great friendships with fellow runners. This second time around, Trent and I, along with former running mates, have braved the elements and are completing yet another great session. It’s been very inspiring to see my little hubby running with me and improving over the course of the class.
Running has seriously taken my workout routine to another level. I am no longer bound to a gym, or an elliptical machine for that matter, for my cardio, and now have friends to run with in the city.
Anyone here in NY, there are a couple different JackRabbit locations to check out. For anyone not in NY and wanting to get in shape, I suggest finding a trainer or a running group on your community. Running will do wonders for you and your body.
Here’s our route for tomorrow:
Have a great weekend, Lovelies. After our big run tomorrow, Trent and I are off to NOLA for Mardi Gras, baby! I’ll be back in a few days with images to share.

Dara
